Rampe Di Sant’antonio A Posillipo , Napoli

The Ramps of Sant’Antonio, with their thirteen descents, are a veritable journey through time and the beauty of Naples. This route, of Greco-Roman origins but shaped into its current form in 1643 by order of the Spanish viceroy Ramiro Nunez de Guzman, connected Chiaia to the tranquil hamlets of Posillipo.

Their history is carved in stone on a commemorative plaque and is intertwined with that of the nearby church of Sant’Antonio, which has dominated the hilltop since 1642.

Despite slight alterations over the centuries, the ramps retain a bold character: the road, narrow and dotted with sharp curves, presents a slight challenge for drivers. But the final reward is unparalleled: the panoramic square, built in 1970, offers perhaps the most romantic view of the entire city.

At night, this balcony overlooking the gulf transforms into a stage of flickering lights, the ideal place for an unforgettable date, with Naples’ immense luminous carpet stretching to the sea.
